Give your bikes the protection they deserve. Made by hand, using construction industry best practices, a Stow goes well beyond a typical bike shed or outdoor store. Multiple layers of materials including cladding, batons, breathable waterproof membrane, construction board (OSB) and studwork combine to create a safe home for your bikes and anything else.

Inspired by architecturally designed modern timber buildings and the classic ‘Saltbox’ shaped houses in New England, USA. The all-around Douglas Fir exterior flows down from the roof, delivering a unique, minimal design.

With no visible rubber roof and a range of high quality woodstains, a Stow enhances your property and fits seemlessly into your neighbourhood.

Style that lasts

The Stow’s clean, minimal lines are complemented by it’s house-like construction underneath. This construction not only gives better protection to what’s inside, but protects against rot by allowing the wood to breathe properly (unlike any type of single-skin shed). Together with a protective treatment applied to the external timber, every Stow stays looking stylish.

A perfect home for bikes

Designed to fit bikes up to as large as 29 inch. Extra wide doors make access easy, and an optional shelf gives you room for all your helmets and kit. Stow’s have been built from scratch with an impressive level of security including heavy duty locks, hinges, bolts and multiple structural layers. A built in ground anchor and chain are added for extra security.

Just like a modern timber building, cladding, batons, membranes and a secure timber framed, OSB cell help keep what’s inside safe.

Heavy duty hardware

Each Stow has carefully designed security features including heavy duty 20cm stainless steel hinges and two 40cm deadlocks.

Lock it up

The main lock has a euro profile 5-pin barrel (similar to what you would find on a front door) and 6 inch 316 grade stainless steel bolt.

Solid security cell

The OSB security cell sits deep inside the Stow and is a solid barrier to entry, attached to the c24 grade timber structure itself.

Lock it down

Steel bolts, anchor points and a lockable chain for high value bikes ensuring compliance with common insurance requirements.

Rainscreen exterior

The outermost ‘rainscreen’ layer of timber gives each Stow its distinctive appearance. It’s how modern, high-end timber houses are built. Made of UK Douglas Fir, it’s arranged in over 150 hand-fixed sections.

The rainscreen ‘floats’ on a sub-structure allowing water to drain off the waterproof membrane behind. The gaps allow air to circulate, drying the timber and feeding the vents to the secure main structure.

Ventilate your space

Cleverly designed ventilation reduces the risk of mold and rust caused by damp items or condensation on cold surfaces.

Water management

A breatheable waterproof membrane ensures the interior of the Stow is kept 100% dry. The double batons are arranged to allow drainage with no need for guttering.

Light it up

Motion sensing lighting activates when the doors open and it’s magnetic attachment allows for easy recharging via USB.

Choice of handles

The lock is set deep back within the extra thick doors, behind a metal or timber joinery handle, covered with a stainless steel plate.

Security and advanced moisture control mean you can free up your house, attic, garage and find more space to live. Perfect if you’re planning a conversion or have just accumalated more stuff than you have room for.

How it's constructed

Timber cladding supported by a double baton arrangement keeps the wood suspended, allowing it to breathe. The membrane underneath combined with the orientation of the batons acts as a waterproof barrier and built in drainage. Ventilation ensures fresh air flow to the inside, helping prevent mold. The OSB is a secure shield, supported by a timber frame. Optional insulation helps further control temperature and moisture. A painted ply lining provides extra protection and a high quality painted finish.

Accomodating up to 6 bikes, choose from depths of aproxamitely 1m to 1.6m. The pitch of your roof can either be high (if you have the room or need a built in shelf) or low (perfect for front gardens). Need something else? Get in touch.

Rough or smooth?

Our two darkest woodstains are available in a rough sawn finish. Rough sawn is a very raw finish but with plenty of texture – the wood is left unplaned, just as it came from the timber mill.

Choose your colour

All Stow’s have been treated with industry leading Danish woodstain, Woca, to keep the beautiful grain visible whilst adding stunning colours and protection. Choose from Natural* planed, Grey planed, Thunder Grey planed, Thunder Grey rough sawn or Black rough sawn. *Natural will transition to a silver-grey over time without further treatments (Visit the FAQ’s for more information).
