Matt & Chris Founders of Stow Bike Sheds

How it started

In 2023, co-founder Chris (right), frustrated by his failing “premium” bike shed, teamed up with construction expert Matt to create durable, stylish, and secure bike sheds. After extensive prototyping, Stow launched its first shed in late 2023, gaining rapid popularity. In 2024, Stow expanded with a new website and a Hampshire workshop, committed to crafting long-lasting sheds that impress.

Stow & Sustainability

At the core of every Stow bike shed is a commitment to sustainability that runs deeper than surface-level claims.

Unlike the ubiquitous plastic or metal alternatives (petroleum derived plastics that leach toxins and metals that rust and waste resources) our sheds are born from nature's finest, responsibly managed woods. We source only FSC-certified treated timber for bases, ensuring every plank supports thriving forests.

At the heart of each build is robust Douglas Fir frames and cladding, harvested locally from East Brothers Timber on the Hampshire-Wiltshire border, reducing transport emissions and fueling the circular economy in the South East.

Our stainless steel hardware is fully recyclable, designed for a second life if the shed ever outlives your garden (though with our 10-year warranty, that's a big "if"). No overseas shipping - just thoughtful choices that minimise waste and maximise longevity.

Each Stow bike shed stands resilient against the elements, and integrates seamlessly into your outdoor space, turning storage into a sustainable statement.

We're proud to say that buying from Stow isn't just investing in a bike shed, it's a vote for local artisans, protected woodlands, and frankly much nicer looking spaces! Join the riders who've ditched disposable sheds for something enduring and natural. Ready to design your eco bike shed?
